The Great or St. Laurenskerk, Laurenskerk frequently briefly called, the only vestige of the medieval Rotterdam is. Construction took place between 1449 and 1525. In 1621 became tower the Keyser provide with wooden peak hours, to a design with Hendrick. By the bad quality of the used wood these had be demolished pointed in 1645. Tower became afterwards provide with stones cube, which proves be in 1650 too heavy for the foundation. Tower again onderheid become and in 1655 towers right resists. In the beginning this laatgotische cathedral was some stones building. in Rotterdam. For this reason much important events found here. The last pastor of the Laurenskerk was Hubertus stud house. In 1572 the Reformation took place and became the Laurenskerk a Protestant church.
