The Wilhelma Theatre in Stuttgart reflects the style of the 19th century. It was built for the citizens and spa guests of nearby Bad Cannstatt and gets its name from the park in which it stands. The name goes back to King Wilhelm I of Württemberg. The beautiful building fell into disrepair over the decades, but it was then renovated and finally re-opened for performances twenty years ago.
