Yacht 'OHEKA II' The luxury engine yacht ' OHEKA II' 1927 built in the Lürssen threw in Bremen. The name of the yacht was derived of the initial letters of the name of the owner: Otto Hermann punt (1867-1934), a Jewish banker, who originated from Germany and emigrated into the USA. There it lived in New York and counted to the most influential and most respected bankers of its time. Its yacht ' OHEKA II' it is to have used, in order to drive of its dwelling over the Hudson to the work. Because the engine achievement was extremely high, the rumor developed that punt would have undertaken smuggling trips. The yacht received the nickname ' rum runner'. The suspicion was however never confirmed. With 22,5 m length and 22.5 t weight counted the ' OHEKA II' to the largest yachts of the twenties-years. It was very fastidiously and elegantly equipped. The schiffsführungs and navigation systems were on the newest conditions, and despite that on a luxuriöse mechanism one did not do without to short distance covered. The ' OHEKA II' of three May brook engines and reached a maximum speed was propelled of 34 knots. Their speed owed it to the special keel form, which with all speedboats of the Lürssen threw to be found was. The keel was rounded from the nose to the center of the ship, within the rear range flat. It was the advancement of the keel form of Italian speedboats. These were particularly on calm lake particularly fast. Ships of the newer design reached however straight also on rauer lake a particularly high speed. Friedrich Lürssen created the Lürssen threw in the year 1875 in Bremen. In co-operation with Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach he developed the first motorboats. Today the exempt private company in the fourth generation is led.
